Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting citizens of Miles County as they sleep peacefully on Christmas Eve
Director Damien Leone has said that several major studios have expressed interest in financing this film based on the unexpected success of Terrifier 2 (2022), even without a completed script, but he turned them all down because he is certain they would never let him film the opening scene alone, which he describes as “too controversial”. Leone has commented that the only reason he can be so uncompromising in his depiction of horror and violence is that he finances his films independently, creates all the special effects himself to keep costs down, and doesn’t have a major studio breathing down his neck to make the film more popular. Mia mentions that the 5th anniversary of the original massacre was coming up, but it happened on Halloween, and this film taking place on Christmas, 5 years later, would mean that the anniversary had just passed 2 months ago. ..
Next up is Terrifier (2016)
Julia’s Brother: Julia, I thought I told you to stay away from my -[Art kills him with an axe]. There is an uncut version of the film that is 2 hours and 25 minutes long and contains 5 scenes… Art by Drew Fulk, Joe Occhiuti, Paul Wiley, Spencer Charnas, and Steve Sopchak starring Ice Nine Kills and Shavo Odadjian. Everyone rated this film 1: No story; it’s just an excuse for blood.
Me: Have you ever heard of Friday the 13th?
In each sequel, the kids go to camp (or New York or outer space, LOL) and get killed in increasingly creative ways. You’d think anyone who watched the third installment of the Terrifier series would know what to expect from this film. Considering there’s no real plot other than Art being a killer on vacation; this time he’s accompanied by Victoria instead of the Little Pale Girl from the second film. While the overall film is perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing (the Christmas aspect looks good and the gore effects are more realistic), I prefer the raw, gritty feel of the original.

There are some very imaginative kills – to the point where you wonder who thinks of these things – adding to the shock value and dark humor that fans will appreciate. It doesn’t have as many fantasy and supernatural aspects as Terrifier 2, which I didn’t enjoy anyway, so this film is a nice return to form for Art and his victims. A good opening sequence with plenty of tension, plenty of screen time for Art’s antics, a good climax, and a conclusion that sets the stage for Terrifier 4 (which is already confirmed). Art the Clown, Pennywise, and Killer Klowns are just a few of the comical creatures that send shivers down our spines.
