Essex and Wales collide when Gavin and Stacey fall in love, taking their friends, family and luggage with them. In addition to the walls shot on location in London in the first episode, the entire series was filmed in Wales. The house was used by Essex shippers' The house (of the Gavin family) is in Dinas Powys, a village 1 mile north-west of Barry, where the Westies (the Stacey family) live. The cars have completely different registration numbers than the previous series. Gavin’s blue Saxo changed from a T-reg (1999 model year) to an X-reg (2000 model year). Brin’s green Picasso changed from CV02 (model year 2002, registered in Cardiff) to HV54 (model year 2004, registered in Portsmouth). These are clearly different machines.. It’s really one of the best comedy series I’ve seen in years. The relationship between Gavin (Matthew Horne: Teachers and Catherine Tate) and Stacey (Joanna Page) from their first flirtation on the phone to their wedding day and family life. The show is brilliantly written by James Corden and Ruth Jones, who also play the roles of best friends Gavin and Stacey, Smithy and Nessa. (They totally steal the show in my opinion.) People who give this show a bad rating clearly have no sense of humor and can’t appreciate a decent comedy!
