When I heard the movie, I immediately thought of this year’s Substance. Both Pamela Anderson and Demi Moore are actresses who were big stars in their youth and whose careers were “inextricably intertwined”; because of their looks and when they reached a certain age, they were no longer offered roles in prestigious Hollywood productions, but this year they were given roles that put them on the lips of moviegoers again.

However, Demi gave a phenomenally original and daring body horror performance, and her role will be one of the best comebacks in film history. Pamela, on the other hand…does well in that film and proves that she can be a good dramatic actress, but the film itself holds her back, which is too formulaic and does not take risks. to delve into the psychology of the main character, let alone the completely unwritten supporting characters. There are interesting plot twists, among others: the characters clash over which of their performances in various clubs is art and which is pornography, but these interesting moments quickly freeze in favor of sentimental and nothing burger scenes, e.g.
I also do not understand why the shots at the beginning of the film are sometimes so strangely blurred??
I did not like Jamie Lee Curtis, who acts as if she is in a completely different film than the others. The plot is quite predictable – we know how the conflicts between the characters will be resolved, and that some elements introduced at the beginning return at the end. I think it was supposed to be part of the artistic vision, but it’s done so clumsily and incoherently that it feels more like an accident. But at least "The Last Girl on the Show" is only 1 hour and 25 minutes long, so it’s not a tiring experience.
